Your weekly hours are the anchor. To get hours per day, divide weekly hours by the number of days you work (40 ÷ 5 = 8). To get hours per year, multiply weekly hours by the weeks you work in a year (40 × 52 = 2,080). Hours per month is simply the yearly total divided by 12. A standard full-time schedule of 40 hours a week works out to 8 hours a day, about 173 hours a month, and 2,080 hours a year.

By default this uses 52 weeks per year. If you take unpaid weeks off, reduce the weeks-per-year to match.

Full-time (40 hours a week): 40 ÷ 5 = 8 hours a day, 40 × 52 = 2,080 hours a year, and about 173 hours a month.

Part-time (20 hours a week): 20 ÷ 5 = 4 hours a day, 20 × 52 = 1,040 hours a year, roughly 87 hours a month.

- Paid time off is already included in the 2,080 figure — it assumes you are paid for all 52 weeks. If you have unpaid leave, lower the weeks-per-year.
- Compressed schedules: if you work four 10-hour days, set days-per-week to 4 so the hours-per-day reflects your real day.
- Overtime is not counted here — this is your scheduled baseline.
